Junior Boxing

From the 10th-13th July we will be running a Junior Summer Camp which is available to both members and non-members ages 10-14.

START YOUR KIDS EARLY!

What do classes include?

Juniors are taught the techniques and skills of boxing in a safe, welcoming environment where motivation, enjoyment and discipline are the foundations of every class. All the children who come through the doors will not only develop their boxing skills and fitness, but key personal skills too.

Why is boxing good for kids and young people?

Boxing is an excellent way of building confidence, make new friends, and improving mental wellbeing. The coaches are advocates for inspiring young people, through boxing, to enjoy and understand the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

Does my child need any experience?

All kids are welcome! If they are keen to learn how to box and have high aspirations to excel in the boxing ring, the opportunity to progress is certainly encouraged and nurtured. If boxing is a means to keep fit, build strength, and maintain a healthy weight, that will be strongly supported and encouraged. The coaches keep the training fun and interesting.

What if my child wants to compete?

We are now offering advanced junior classes for children who want to move onto the next level of the sport, spar and compete. A child needs to show a positive and disciplined attitude as well as a willingness for increased sparring, and interest in competition.

When do classes run?

Junior classes run on Tuesday and Thursday from 4 – 5 pm (6-9 years) & 5 – 6pm (10-17 years) and Saturdays from 1 – 2pm (all ages). Advanced Junior classes run on Wednesday and Friday 5 – 6pm.

What type of Memberships are there?

Junior Regular Membership entitles you to 2 classes a week. Junior Super Membership entitles you to 3 classes a week. Classes run throughout term time and school holidays. We also run an Advanced Junior class on a Wednesday and Friday at 5pm for those who want to take their boxing to the next level.

We also run an advanced juniors class every Wdnesday and Friday at 5pm. This is for those who want to take their boxing to the next level.

What qualifications do the coaches have?

All coaches are PVG Scheme checked and registered with Port O’ Leith Boxing Club.
