JUNIOR BOXING AT PORT O’ LEITH BOXING

What do classes include?

Juniors are taught the techniques and skills of boxing in a safe, welcoming environment where motivation, enjoyment and discipline are the foundations of every class. All the children who come through the doors will not only develop their boxing skills and fitness, but key personal skills too.

Why is boxing good for kids and young people?

Boxing is an excellent way of building confidence, make new friends, and improving mental wellbeing. The coaches are advocates for inspiring young people, through boxing, to enjoy and understand the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

Does my child need any experience?

All kids are welcome! If they are keen to learn how to box and have high aspirations to excel in the boxing ring, the opportunity to progress is certainly encouraged and nurtured. If boxing is a means to keep fit, build strength, and maintain a healthy weight, that will be strongly supported and encouraged. The coaches keep the training fun and interesting.

What if my child wants to compete?

We are now offering amateur junior classes for children who want to move onto the next level of the sport, spar and compete. A child needs to show a positive and disciplined attitude as well as a willingness for increased sparring, and interest in competition.

When do classes run?

Junior classes run on Tuesday and Thursday from 4 – 5 pm (6-9 years) & 5 – 6pm (10-17 years) and Saturdays from 12pm – 1pm (all ages). Amateur Junior classes run on Monday, Wednesday 5 – 6pm, Friday 4:30-5:30pm and Saturday 10am.
